Throughout my career, there have been many occasions where I had to care for a patient experiencing an allergic-like reaction to intravenous contrast. I always wished that there was an easy way to quickly access the appropriate medications and their respective doses, especially for pediatric patients. My goal in designing this website was to help in situations where time is of the essence. That goal eventually morphed into having a site where radiology personnel could go to quickly access virtually ALL of the medications they may need in their daily work.
RadMeds.com was created for radiologists and other health care providers who administer medications in the radiology department. As most radiology personnel do not prescribe on a regular basis, we felt that it was important to have an easy to operate website that would place the most important information at the provider's fingertips at a moment's notice.
Most importantly, appropriate doses for medications used to treat adverse reactions must be quickly accessible, which is why this information is set as the homepage. No unnecessary clicks!
We also wanted to expedite conversion to pediatric doses, so providers don't have to waste valuable time calculating mg/kg conversions.
