Contrast Extravasation

  • Evaluate for neurovascular compromise. If present, consult plastic surgery
  • Elevate the affected body part
  • Apply cold compress for 20 min TID/QID
  • Instruct patient to return to hospital if they develop skin ulceration, blistering, altered sensation, increased swelling/pain
