- Evaluate for neurovascular compromise. If present, consult plastic surgery
- Elevate the affected body part
- Apply cold compress for 20 min TID/QID
- Instruct patient to return to hospital if they develop skin ulceration, blistering, altered sensation, increased swelling/pain
